WHAT WE DO

Lightbox Productions, fondly dubbed ‘the little theatre company that could’, has been producing small-scale, high-quality musical theatre since 2017. Under the hard working and charismatic leadership of current President, Rebekah Abblitt, the company has been lauded with audience praise, highly-commended reviews and a wide array of awards and nominations.

Lightbox Productions prides itself on creating safe and inclusive theatre. The company strives to put their people first – casts, crew and creatives alike – and believes that focus has allowed them to produce shows to an incredibly high standard whilst fostering a warm, welcoming and safe space.

Lightbox Productions would like to thank Bendigo Bank Ringwood East & Croydon for their sponsorship of our 2025 program and the launch of our 2026 season. Bendigo Bank was able to aid with production costs, venue hire and creating unique, inclusive and interactive audience experiences. Lightbox Productions are proud to have the continued support of our local community bank, Bendigo Bank.

Lightbox Productions Inc would like to thank the Maroondah City Council’s Community Grants Funding Program/ Arts and Cultural Grants Scheme. In 2020, this scheme helped us to acquire our rehearsal speaker system, a crucial tool in our rehearsal rooms. In 2023, Maroondah City Council funded our procurement of a digital piano. 2024 saw the Council funding the upgrade to our technical box through a new iPad and accessories – this upgrade was sorely needed for use with fundraising events and ticket sales. Most recently, in 2025, the Maroondah City Council funded our purchase of a set of foldback speakers for both rehearsal and show use.
